My Youngest Son Journey Two Weeks in Navy Boot Camp
It’s been two weeks since my youngest son, the baby of the family, began his journey in the U.S. Navy boot camp. As the youngest of my two children, he’s always had a strong sense of independence, but seeing him take this major step has filled me with a mix of pride, nostalgia, and a little bit of anxiety. Watching him pack up and leave for boot camp stirred up memories of him growing up, from his first steps to his first big decision to join the military.
Boot camp is challenging, both physically and mentally, and I can only imagine what he’s going through during these first few weeks. But I know this experience will shape him into an even stronger individual. His decision to serve our country speaks volumes about his character, and though he may be far from home, he’s never far from my thoughts.
As the youngest, he’s always had a special place in our family, but now, seeing him serve his country, I realize he’s not just my son anymore—he will be a U.S. Navy sailor.
