The Younger Generation Needs a Wake-Up Call – Where’s the Common Sense?

Wake Up, Kids: Common Sense Ain’t an App
I swear, if common sense were a downloadable app, half of this younger generation would still need a tutorial video to use it. It’s like they were raised by participation trophies and Wi-Fi signals instead of parents with an ounce of logic. Back in my day—yeah, I said it—we didn’t need a reminder to look both ways before crossing the street. Now? You’ve got people walking into traffic with their eyes glued to TikTok, probably filming their own demise for likes.
It’s exhausting watching grown adults (barely) struggle to do basic things like pump gas, write a coherent sentence, or, heaven forbid, have a face-to-face conversation without buffering mid-sentence. Life isn’t a highlight reel, kid. You actually have to do things, not just post about them.
And don’t get me started on work ethic. Showing up isn’t an accomplishment—it’s the bare minimum. “Quiet quitting?” Please. In my day, we called that being lazy.
So yeah, sometimes I want to slap some common sense into this generation. Not out of anger—out of sheer desperation. But hey, maybe I’ll just start a YouTube channel about it. That seems to be the only way they’ll pay attention.
