Preparing My Son for Navy Boot Camp – Essentials for his Journey

With just 8 days left until my son ships off to Navy boot camp on September 12th, we went shopping for essentials. We picked up a sturdy pair of running shoes, a phone card for those rare calls home, and a simple outfit for him to wear as he embarks on this new journey. It’s incredible how these small items suddenly carry so much weight. At this point, I’m not sure how I feel about him leaving and starting his life away from home, but I’m proud of his decision to serve and ready to support him every step of the way.
